Diving into Faerieworlds Harvest Festival
On September 16th to the 18th I will be making a trek down to Faerieworlds Harvest Festival outside Eugene to perform some of my downtempo chillout. It's an amazing event of merry folk coming together to listen to wonderful music, dress as extravagant eleven costumes, and have a wonderful family gathering. The Harvest festival's website has said this: From the outset, Harvest was our "thank you" celebration to the Faerieworlds community for ten years of creativity, magic and music. It has been amazing journey for all of us and we are so grateful for everyone - especially you, the Faerieworlds family - for making Faerieworlds the largest event of it's kind in the world. And we are just getting started...! I will be playing with such wonderful artist as Faun and Delphi to Dublin. Here is a video of Delphi to Dublin to get you excited. Free Dubstep and Downtempo Midi Drums
I have started to get in the habit of creating midi drum grooves when I am producing music. I also spend hours learning and drawing out new grooves to increase my library. So, I sat down and hashed out a bunch of MIDI patterns that I can drag and drop into my Set. That made writing way faster.
Announcing the (aq) Store
This week I have unveiled the (aq) Store. The store will have a wide range of ableton tools and ableton effect racks for musicians as well as featured Subaqueous music releases. Some of the things I am excited to have available are the instrument packs such as the ones below. More products to come over time as a develop an ever expanding music library!Udu Water Drum Ableton Instrument This is an Ableton Pack I made by processing the sound of the Udu Water Drum, and putting it into a drum rack. Has over 20 samples of the drum to make a nice complete and rounded sound. The Udu is such a unique instrument that has a great water attack. Massive Bass PatchesThis is a collection of Bass Patches that I have crafted for my own music. This collection includes 20 bass patches for NI Massive. They are organized by category. Specificly designed to be Phat on any system. Also some great patches for a more chilled out dubstep sound.
Remix Competition Winners Announced
This last month I have hosted the first Subaqueous Remix Competition. Over 200 people downloaded the stems for the song Puddle step and I have been receiving some amazing remixes. I am honored to announce and share these eclectic remixes. Grand Prize Winner goes to Bootzilla, aka Bryan Daste. He did an amazing remix using his Peddle Steel to make a really smooth melodic dowtempo groove. Here is the remix and it is a free download as well. Puddle Step (Bootzilla Remix) by Subaqueous Second Place is Catsarecool, aka Derrick Boo. There remix has a supper fun and happy sound to it. Track bounces around with a video game feel. Remix Competition
This month I have been signed on to Street Ritual Records for my new upcoming EP, Undulate. To celebrate such a big occasion I have partnered with some amazing companies to bring for the Subaqueous Remix Competition. Midi Tricks and Midi Routing
One thing that is SUPER annoying in Ableton live for PC users is that when you start up Live you can’t plug in new Midi devices without restarting. I ended up hacking a way that I can plug midi devices in and out and wanted to share that. Also using this MIDI routing you can do some really cool tricks. Midi Yoke and Miditrixs To do this hack you will need to download Midi Yoke and Miditrixs. Below is a little description of both pieces of software. Midi Yoke for Multiple Midi MIDI YOKE is a MIDI Patch Cable driver. This allows you to connect the MIDI output from one program to the MIDI input of a different program or even device. MIDI Yoke can be configured to provide a varying number of MIDI Ports (from 1 to 16). In addition, each port allows multiple opens of both input and outputs: up to 4 openings per port. This flexibility provides for almost any configuration imaginable.
