(aq) Koto Instrument to add some Asian Spice
I’m diving more into world music the last few months and experimenting with some asianic sounds. One Instrument that I have been really digging is the Koto. The koto is a traditional Japanese stringed musical instrument, similar to the Chinese guzheng. It has a beautiful sound and character. I’ve built a custom instrument in Live and have been really loving the quality of sound.

Basic Harmonic Theory
Harmonies and the Circle of FifthsIn this article I am going to be going over the basic understandings of the circle of fifths in terms of building a harmony in your music. To start let me share my thoughts on Harmony and what it is. To start we have to go to the very route of music and why it sounds good.Music is perceived subconsciously by humans as “good sounding” by it’s abuility to create and hold complex ratios and mathmatical similarities. That is what separates it from objects just clanging together. All notes are based on ratios. All scales are organizing the ratios in such a way that there is perceived order. When you play a C first you are saying that is the root, or the lowest point on the scale. Then you build other notes that are in ratios and you get chords. Music is that play between this perfect good sounding ratios and Tension which is ratios that work but aren’t perfect. This tension creats interest as well as can be resolved to add release in the listener. Harmony is the basic ratios going back and forth from perfect to tense to perfect.
Music and Magic of Faeriesworld Harvest
This weekend I had the pleasure of playing a downtempo set at Fearieworls Harvest. It was a magical event swimming with feary folk and some of the most beautiful costumes. There a great family vibe that included some hilariousness with puppet shows and fearie smashers. On Saturday I played at the Neverworlds stage and had the honor of being on of the first electronic musicians at the event. I got to play my autoharp live and share some sweet downtempo chillout vibes. There were two amazing musicians before me that night and I wanted to share there fantastic sound. Downtempo Chillout Music of Faerieworlds Right before my set eO played his original music that was a blend of electronic and world influences. It also had a nice downtempo dubstep bass heavy and a depth to it that was perfect for the fearie twilight. River Through An Open Door by eO SJ tucker was an amazing musician and story teller was a highlight of Fearieworlds as well. I remeber listening to her tales at burning man years ago and was wonderful to hear her epics again. The stories of Pan and
