New Album and Interview
I've had the pleasure of working on a new Album for the past few months, and with the help of everyone on Kickstarter I am able to bring this album forth. It will be released on August 14th along with the USB Splash Drive from my Kickstarter Campaign. This is a remix album that features mixes from Govinda, Itom Lab, Futexture, Erothyme, and more. I am really elated to be working with these musicians to being this envisioning of my past music. Visit my Bandcamp page to listen to the Pre Release and download a free single of eO's remix: http://subaqueous.bandcamp.com/album/revision Full release on august 14th. Another thing that I did to get ready for this Album is create a recording where I go over my artist process, history, hopes, and ideas around my music. It's a personal unfolding of my story. I love the idea of sharing with you what I was thinking when creating music and the hidden Why behind many of my artistic choices. It is included on the USB Splash Drive, but for now you can listen to the recordings below.
ReVision
As the kickstarter is coming to a close, I wanted to share some previews of the upcoming album. I have be totally honored to have remixes but amazing musicians such as Itom Lab, Govinda, eO, Theta Rhythms, and more. Check out these preview mixes of some of the tracks to come. Will be released in a few weeks after the kickstarter is a success.
Tuning to 432
UPDATE: Since I wrote this 3 years ago I have expanded on my knowledge of 432 and made a more comprehensive work around tuning in Ableton Live, theory, and using third party plugins. Check out the three articles below for a deeper look at 432: Theory and 432 Tuning Tuning Ableton Live to 432 432 with VST's and Third Party Plugins _____________________________________________________________________________ Lately I have heard a lot about 432 tuning and wanted to try it out. I've been experimenting with returning in Ableton Live. Before that lets review about the idea behind 432 versus 440 tuning. The idea is that the natural world resonates with 432 and it's tuning more than 440. This get very theoretical, but let me put it this way. Tuning was histrionically free game. You could tune your orchestra up or down. There was actually a problem called "pitch inflation". Basically the higher the tuning, the sharper the sound. It would also make it sound louder to the listener. At some point the decided to standardize it. I believe 440 was chosen because it's mathematically easy to deal with. 440
Free Saturation & Distortion VST
This new plugin from Klanghelm.com came out and I am loving it. It's an amazing saturation and distortion VST effect. Best of all... It's free. This VST adds some rich and subtle saturation. I have been using it on drums and pads to great effect. Love the sonic quality of it. IVGI reacts dynamically to the input signal and well and it even the react dynamically and to the drive setting. This gives it amazingly clear and crisp effect. Check out http://www.klanghelm.com/IVGI.html and download the IVGI for free.
Max For Live – Harmonic Runner
I just got the new Harmonic Runner from Amazingnoises.com. I absolutly love this Max For Live Devise. Really amazing how much modulation and harmonics you can get from this. The Harmonic Runner is a Max for Live spectral device which controls amplitude, phase and timing of the components of the sound spectrum. It can add a rich effect to any audio. I have been using it for sound effects, adding interesting texture and have been experimenting with it for my Ambient Sets. This divise is solid and really well priced at €8.00 Here is a video I made with a little walkthrough: {youtube}tuyy2dpzxqU{/youtube}
