Back to the Future Audio Effects
Come along with me on a journey through space and time.... Today is officially the future. It is 10/21/2015 and is the date that Marty McFly went to in Back to the Future. To celebrate I put together a collection of Audio Effect racks to help morph your sounds into the different time periods that Marty went to. Free Toy Harp Instrument Rack
I love using physical instruments in my tracks. The process of recording and manipulating sounds is really inspiring. I was working on a track the other day and I wanted to use my First Act Lap Harp. I tuned it up and recorded a new melody. The instrument goes out of tune almost instantly though. I decided to take the time and record the notes to build a new instrument rack. I loved how this rack turned out using multi velocity recordings and interesting pitch bends. This video walks you through the instrument and using it in Ableton Live. Bouncing Down A Project to Mix in Another DAW
I have worked with many musicians on mixing and mastering their music. I’ve worked with many different DAW’s in mixing. I mainly like to work in Ableton Live and sometimes need a musician to send me bounced down the audio from their DAW of choice so I can use it in Ableton Live for mixing. This article will look at the process of preparing stems and individual tracks for exporting to another DAW. We will first look at what our objective is and then doing it in each DAW. Two Methods of Mixing Down There are two ways I work for producing with musicians and having them send me files of their project. Each one is specifically for the needs of the project. Below we will look at the different methods. Full Individual Mix Down Let’s say I am working with someone that wants me to redo their track. Maybe change instrumentation, add deep processing and mixing. If that were the case I would want to have control over every individual part. First Official Music Video – Feat. Mr. Moo
Performing my music is one of my favorite things in this world. I feel so alive while I am deeply concentrating on my music and feeling the dance floor respond to it. I also dance like a mad man (if you have seen me live you know what I am talking about). This summer I had an amazing experience performing with Mr. Moo (Milo Hayden). I loved seeing the dance floor and energy we had as a duo. We were so inspired we created a music video of our performance. Watch it, share it, and see what happens. We're hoping to share the video with event promoters as we start building our winter tour. If you know of an event promoter, please hit us up and send them our way. Free MIDI Trap Drum Beats
Over the last month I got really inspired to remake a few of my tracks. I wanted to add new beats and energy to my older tracks, or the ones that just didn’t hit it. I found myself making a lot of Trap beats. Along the way I made quite a library of trap rhythms in MIDI format. I love using MIDI because I can drag and drop it into my live set and switch out different drums. I put together a library of MIDI Trap beats for y’all. The parts are separated to make it easy to mix and match. I have the beats separated into hats, snares, and kicks. Total of 36 MIDI Clips. The MIDI files work with any DAW. Just drag them into the track you are working on and add drum sounds to the MIDI track. For all the Ableton Live users I have a Live Set with it all laid out and easy to use. You can play High Hats and switch up the snare pattern. This makes it very easy to come up with new beats.
Dedication to Succeed
Through the last decade of being an artist I have learned a lot around what it takes to succeed. For me the key is recognizing what my goals are, and being true to my aspirations. If I want to be a professional musician, then I need to dedicate myself to that path. Go big or go home has been my motto.
