Ableton live is always coming up with new ways to help live performers. They released a M4L device that is just blowing my mind. This device will take incoming audio, read it in real time, and sync your master tempo to it. It’s a simple device, but it has powerful implications. 
This device makes it really easy for bands to sync with their live drums and have all their samples and backing sounds stay in time with the drummer. This is mind blowing to me. I’ve tried it out with percussionist and drummers and it’s pretty slick. Next to no set up, other than an audio in from the drums, and we were rocking it.
