Today is the day I have been waiting for. Ableton has updated Live with Link! If you do not know the awesome power of link for collaboration, check this out:
This new feature lets you hit the Link Button near your Global Tempo and connect to other devices. It is incredibly stable and easy to use.
Here is how easy it is to set up:
- Connect your computer devices to the same ad hoc or local network. So basically the same internet connection.
- Open up open the Preferences in Live-> Link/MIDI tab and click on the button next to “Play in time with Link”.
- Now you are on your way to being synced with other programs, apps, and instances of Ableton Live.
Grab the new update from Ableton.com to start collaborating. There are a few Apps coming out that will utilize Link, and I hope to see this as a standard.
