I recently got an Ableton Push and been spending late nights loving the capabilities of it. I have been looking online for cool videos on using it. Along the way I found this video of these guys in czech that disassemble the Push. It’s cool to see the build and parts of the push. The video is below and I will share my thoughts after it in this article.
The main thing I take from this is the Push is really well made. I mean Really well made! I love that nothing is glued or can’t be taken apart. I had a suspicion that the back casing was a hard and heavy metal, which it is. Honestly wish the Push was a little more light weight, but they did not sacrifice build quality.

The black plastic casing inside is a little strange. Doesn’t seem to do anything except take up the space to make it more stable. I really wonder if a little more design to cut down the space and weight could have happened. But again, this has lead to a solid piece of gear I know will last and work for a long time.

When they take it apart and look at the pads, I got really impressed. This is made to last. The solid build will mean you can play to your hearts content and not worry about wearing these out for a long time. Over and Over we see that the Push is really well made.
I also saw a post about someone spilling coffee on there push. They took it apart and cleaned it. Then it was up and running in perfect order. This is another sign that it’s built to last.
