SlipStream EP and New Music

October 18th, 2016|

Releasing new music is always such a trip. I spent so much time feeling into this music, writing it, and polishing it. Each song is tied to the story of my life, my message to the world, and a reflection of where I am.  I am so excited for the music to move beyond myself and find new stories and avenues. The EP has been released through The Chillage Record Label in California.  Stream the music below and check out the links if you want to grab a copy and support the music. Slipstream by Subaqueous Download / Listen at: ITunes Beatport Spotify Big thanks to the musicians I collaborated with. The Adaptive, Danceher Jones, Jekks, KR3TURE, and Halfred, Check out the tunes and let me know what you think. New Ambient Autoharp Music I am also happy to release some new ambient music. The past year has been filled with special moments on stage playing my autoharp. The Autoharp has always been a private thing for me. Something I ply just for myself. This last year I decided to play it more in my sets, especially for opening ecstatic

Silk Drop Remix Winner Announced

October 14th, 2016|

Wow, it has been an amazing experience listening to all the remixes. We had over 900 people join the event and 120+ submissions.  The music ranged from every genre imaginable and all over the world.  Heather Christie and I listened to every track for originality, emotional expression, production skills, and mixing.  It was a hard choice, but we have chosen the winners of the first ever Silk Drop remix contest. First of all, I would like to thank everyone that participated. It's always an amazing experience to see how our music has inspired other music producers. I also want to thank Loopmasters, PluginBoutique,LANDR, Melodics, AfroDjMac, and Novation for being a part of the contest by offering prizes. I really appreciate how much these companies support the music community. Make sure you send that love back and check out their site. Ok, so the grand prize winner of the contest is Kelsey Robinson.  Kelsey's remix had a unique flavor and emotional build to it. It took the more indie pop / electronic track and put it into a much more EDM context. Great remix and we are stoked. Thank

8 Efficiency Hacks for Ableton Live Workflow

October 3rd, 2016|

When you’re producing music, you want to be in the flow. When you have to stop and do a bunch repetitive technical tasks, it can slow down your production and halt the creativity. Ableton Live features a huge collection of features to help speed up your game. Below is a list of my fast workflow tips in Live. Multi-Clip Warping If you are working on a remix, particularly for a band, then this is a life savor.  There are instances when you have a bunch of Audio in Live and you want to move all the Warp Markers in a track at the same time. You can easily do this.  All you need to do is: Make sure they are all the same length. If they are not using the Consolidate feature to get all the clips to the same size. Select all the Audio Clips. The last one you selected will be shown in the Sample Display. Create Warp Markers and move it. You will see that all the other audio clips will move as well.

4 Unknown features for Live’s Compressor

September 28th, 2016|

The Compressor is your bread and butter in mixing. If you know can really wield EQing and Compression, then you can deal with 80% of all problems when mixing.  The Compressor is probably the most used Ableton live device. Even though producers constantly grab the compressor, there are some less known features that can greatly help the mix. Adding the Auto Feature: There are two features on the Compressor that can help make things automatic. The first one is the Auto Button. This will automatically decide the release amount compared to the input signal. It makes it quick and easy to let Live determine how long before releasing the compressor.  Once this is activated you cannot manually set the Release amount. Second automatic feature is the Makeup button. Enabling the Makeup button automatically compensates the output level if the threshold and ratio settings change.  In other words, if you change the Ratio of the compression, then Live will automatically adjust the output gain.  These are both helpful in automating Live’s Compressor. Expand instead of Compress: I love using the Expand feature on the Compressor. It’s a little-known gem. With the Compressor
